Middletown, NY - Summer, 2011 - O&W Station photos
These were all taken on July 7, 2011, in Middletown, New York.
The NYO&W Station still stands at Wickham Ave (Route 211) and Low Avenue.
Built in 1892, it last saw passenger service in 1953, and its namesake railroad,
the New York, Ontario & Western itself was abandoned in the spring of 1957.
After a major fire in 2004 (affecting mostly the western end), nothing has been done with it,
but plans are in play now for soon becoming a local medical services building.

A few views from the track side of the station.

At the far west end, looking through a window, you can see some of the heavier damage.

The west end, where the roof had burned away.

Just further west, a front and rear view of an O&W shop building, now put to another use.

The single track, still in use by the Norfolk Southern, looking west.

Close-up of the rails next to the station, Lackawanna 90# rails which appear to be dated 1931.

And finally, two photos from the front (Low Ave.) side of the station.
